I have the same issue, also with a D6000, also with a M1 Mac (Macbook Pro). Have to unplug and plug back in erratically to make USB accessories work, meanwhile the attached display work flawlessly at all times.
Looks like a D6000 related bug for MacOS? |

Hello everyone, I've just registered to reply to this thread, I hope my findings are useful.
I got an M1 Macbook Pro, after upgrading to OSX Sequoia I have been experiencing these issues. I notice a pattern that fixed my issues, and here's my solution: Instead of just plugging and unplugging the USB, SWAP IT from the current port to the next one on the machine, this has worked almost every time for me, when it fails, repeating the swap works. Let me know if this works for you guys, all the best from Panama. |

Exactly the same here for my D6000 dock. Looking in the USB device tree, it doesn't show up as an usb2.1 or usb2.0 hub when it's not working. MacOS isn't detecting it at all.
Switching ports does seem to help sometimes, but it's unreliable, and to be honest a complete pain. |

Do you have the latest firmware on your Dell D6000? It's available here, and you'll need a Windows PC to update it.
