Default macbookair M1 with minisopuru

I think my problem is software related. The Macbook air wont recognize the device at all and does not give me the option for additional monitors. I hit the "option" key for "detect displays" still nothing. Help please

Hi,
If your device is not visible in the USB section of the system report make sure that:
-The device is connected to a power source (if it is a powered docking station)
-The device is properly connected to your MacBook Air and the connecting cable is not damaged (if possible check another one).
-The first time you connect a new USB device to your Mac, you will see a system prompt where you will need to confirm that you want to use the USB device. You may have missed this, so you can go to the Privacy & Security section of the system Settings, then by scrolling down you will find the ‘Allow accessories to connect’ menu and select ‘Always’.
-When your device is physically detected by macOS remember that DisplayLink Manager must be running at all times.
