Default Displaylink issues with Mac Mini M4

Hello,
I've connected it to my 'ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock', which is connected to two Dell screens with an hdmi cable and a display port cable. I've installed the Synaptics Displaylink app as well as the Login Screen extension, but I still get no image until I've logged in. Is anyone experiencing the same?

Hello judithjohn,

When a Mac first boots and presents a login screen, the DisplayLink Manager app isn't allowed to be running. As a result, any DisplayLink display won't show an image.
They will only start working after the user logs into the system and the DisplayLink Manager is launched.

My understanding is that with the login extension installed and enabled that the DisplayLink driven monitors should be able to show an image (such as the macOS login screen) even before the end-user signs in.

Mjaroch, is my understanding incorrect?

Hello rboerner,

Yes, you are right.
The DisplayLink driven monitors should be able to show an image even before the end-user signs in.
Apologizing for my misunderstanding. Thank you for bringing attention to this case.

Hi Judith,

To the best of my knowledge (and DisplayLink's confirmation above) the behavior you describe is not expected. As a result, I would suggest reporting the issue to DisplayLink directly by following this procedure --> https://support.displaylink.com/know...to-displaylink
