Hi,
This problem has already been raised here and is related to the simultaneous use of the Elgato Camera Hub app. We are working together with Elgato to resolve this issue. If you wish you can also submit this problem to Elgato support.

Has there been any movement on this working with them? Since they really don't care to respond to a customer about it. I have the latest version of everything and it's over a year later which is why I'm curious. I *may* have finally worked around this by stopping Camera Hub from checking for DisplayLink (which seems to turn it back on when I quit if I don't turn off that setting) and turning it all off - displaylink and camera hub. Of course, then have to manually turn it all back on just to use my prompter. But stealing my keyboard and screen every 10 minutes all day long, trade I'm willing to make.

At least it also resolves the camera hub bug where it leaves artifacts on the monitor displays that should only be seen in the Camera Hub UI, but that's probably some other bug entirely.

Absolutely terrible user experience to have this displaylink + camera hub bug completely unresolved for years, but at this point with more than one piece of hardware/software from them, I expect no better from elgato unfortunately.

Hi jdh,

Yes, it has been addressed long time ago.
I turned out to be a setting in the CameraHub application.
First you need to ensure you have have CameraHub 2.0 or newer.
Then please follow these steps:
  1. Open CameraHub Preferences while holding the CMD key - this will reveal a hidden option.
  2. In the Preferences window, uncheck the option called “Ensure DisplayLink Manager is running
Regards,
Szymon
