Hi,
I have recently added a Dell D3000 to my HP ProBook 4330s. While the display and USB ports seem to be working without an issue, I seem to have a rather strange problem on restarts. While I can "Shut Down" the Laptop cleanly and then power on without an issue, I am unable to do a "Restart" and accomplish the same thing. When ever I hit the "Restart" button it simply hangs on the BIOS screen, it DOESN'T do this when I shut down and power on again? Does anyone have ANY idea why this might be? Currently running W8.1 Full Updated. Was running with the latest Dell Drivers from their site, but have since un-installed and now running with the most up to date drivers from the Display Link site. I have tried restarting with other USB devices plugged in and have not come across the same issue. It's ONLY when the D3000 is plugged in? Regards Jamie |

Try checking the Dell site for an updated BIOS image for your laptop. It sounds like the BIOS is getting stuck scanning the USB bus with many devices connected.
