Interesting problem

I have a user with a MS Surface Pro 3 tablet connected to a Targus Dock 120 with 2 monitors connected. all was working fine till 2 weeks ago. Now when he locks the computer it constantly changes between login and locked, until the dock usb is disconnected. once he logs back in and reconnects the dock everything works fine.
The OS is Windows 10 1709 with all updates installed, have tried rollbacks, uninstalling displaylink and using a USB hub as an intermediate connection. This does not occur with just a USB hub connected, only when the Dock is on.

Any help would be appreciated.
