WDP problem (NVIDIA?)
Hello,
Does anybody know how to fix this: 1) I'm using TOSHIBA Dynadock DVI (DisplayLink - 5.6.31548) with TOSHIBA Qosmio G50 (GeForce 9600M GT - 8.15.11.8642). 2) WDP indicates 2 monitors (1. Internal LCD and 2. No monitor). 3) I set up WDP as "Show desktop only on 1" and apply changes, but after every next launch of the system WDP are "Extend these displays", and this causes problems with mouse and desktop: each time I move pointer to the area where 2nd (non-existing) monitor is attached, mouse disappears from the screen, all icons are scattered over desktop and some applications windows open outside display area. Attached is my log file. I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks Last edited by n_mos; 04-13-2011 at 11:16 PM. |

This is usually caused by 3rd party apps, most probably the NVidia app getting confused because it only expects 2 displays. Try disabling the NVIDIA service (and in doing so killing nvvsvc.exe) and it should solve the issue.

Thanks, Wim,
I did as you advised, but, unfortunately, that didn't help. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but this bug first appeared after instalation of 5.6 release. Perhaps you could give some more suggestions in this respect? |
