clicking on pkg brings up terminal instead of installer
I'm sure the title of the thread gives me away as a total non-geek newb. Unfortunately, it's true. When I download the driver, install the dmg file, and click on the pkg, it opens up a terminal window instead of an installer, and since I only play a geek on tv, I'm lost as to what to do next.
Advice? Directions? Help? Please? I'm on a Mac Mini from late 2009, Processor: 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory: 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB, OS: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b), and I'm trying to install a driver for an AOC e1649Fwu. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Most likely the pkg files are for some reason associated with the Terminal app. You could try to right-click on the pkg file, select "Open with.." from the menu and open it using the Installer app. If it is not listed, you can choose "Other.." and select the Installer app from /System/Library/CoreServices/. Check the "alway open with" option to save your choice.
