Hi,
I can confirm that the driver worked with Beta 4. However, I upgraded to Beta 5 today and my screen went black once more I tried reinstalling driver 2.4 again, but no success Last edited by skamenz; 07-29-2015 at 12:09 PM. |

And I just had my laptop spontaneously rebooting whilst I was afk (kernel panic?)
after this, I get my 2 external screens to work, if the usb connector is plugged in at boot time. I then updated to dev update 5, and all is still working. Small issues: - when I use an external logitech mouse, and I move the pointer to fast, the mouse freezes until I stop moving. Which is very annoying.. - the feature where the mouse pointer grows when you wiggle the mouse does not work. |

New problem since updating to Beta 5.
New MS Outlook 15.11.2 patched to current crashes the moment you launch it if you have a USB monitor plugged in. Unplug the USB and Outlook works perfectly. (Well as well as MS Products usually work :-) No other application (for me) is doing this other then Outlook. I have: 2011 Macbook Pro 15" USB TO DVI: Product ID: 0x019a Vendor ID: 0x17e9 (DisplayLink (UK) Ltd.) iTunes 12.2.2.25 crashes when minimising window
Hi,
I can confirm that much is working with El Capitan Beta 7. I even see my monitor in the 'About this Mac'->Displays section! And even Citrix view (v 12) knows to reopen sessions on my external screen! Know that the combination 10.11 Beta 7 and iTunes 12.2 and Displaylink 2.4 crashed the WindowServer when minimising the iTunes window. I have opened a call with Apple Support (22376142) but no answer yet... Regards, Marc |

rMBP 13", late 2013, El Capitan Public Beta 5 running a 2560x1440 Dell monitor using displayport connection, and a 1920x1200 Acer monitor via Plugable UD-3900 USB3 dock with latest DisplayLink drivers installed...
This configuration has worked, but it is sporadic and mostly does *not* work. Previous public betas has been sporadic but mostly worked, and the trick of killing the DisplayLinkUserAgent process often worked, but with public beta 5, this trick has not worked even once. The most typical scenario I'm seeing currently is that the OS sees the DisplayLink-connected display and thinks it's active, but the display is blank. The displayport-connected display always works. I have toggled the built-in laptop display by opening/closing the lid, which has gotten the DisplayLink display working once or twice, but mostly doesn't work. Rebooting *has* worked, but usually does not. I have not found a reliable solution to getting the DisplayLink display working with public beta 5. As an aside, I believe this is the third year running where we've seen these drivers break during the developer betas of OS X, DisplayLink does nothing, OS X public release comes out and suddenly everyone has this problem, DisplayLink acts is if they've been caught unawares, then a month or two later we get an updated driver that works with the new OS. This is what developer betas are for; run them, see if your software breaks, then prepare your fixes before public release so your users aren't left with broken software. I used to recommend these USB docks to friends because they were so much more affordable than thunderbolt docks, but with this consistent experience, it's almost impossible to continue recommending them. I really hope the DisplayLink folks will start being a little more proactive with these drivers when OS X betas come out. |

Still broken on late 2013 rMBP 13" with El Capitan GM
For me, I'm seeing the same behavior as I described above now that I'm running the El Capitan GM.
tl;dr: it almost never works. |
