Default Windows 10 - neither laptop nor monitor sleeps

Neither my laptop nor my monitor is sleeping when my Dynadock is connected.

Is this a known issue, or are then any settings to check? I have the latest drivers. Laptop is set to sleep with ac power after 1 hour.

Hello,

No, this is not a known issue and this is one of the first thing manufacturers try with our driver: suspend/resume, hibernate/resume... This is also something Microsoft would have told us as they keep an eye on this through Windows telemetry systems.
I would look at the settings and also at what is connected to the dock which may keep the computer alive.

To give you an indication, the computer I have been using everyday since I joined DisplayLink in 2015 has a similar docking station attached and goes to sleep every time I left my desk when I lock my working station. That's more than 10 times per day, for each business day across more than a year.

Kind regards,
Alban

thanks,

This is the same dock i had with a mac - i just swapped my mac for lenovo windows 10. The mac went to sleep fine.

I need to make sure it is not Synergy (virtual mouse and keyboard), but i had this on the mac too, so i am not sure why this happens.

The screen blanks, but the backlight is still on for both laptop and monitor. I will try to confirm it is display link. The dock has zero items attached other then a monitor, ethernet cable and 3.5mm speaker.

Hello,

Which version of Windows are you using, and if Windows 10, which version of Windows 10? (Build number available is settings).
Also, which graphics vendor is your GPU from?

Kind regards,
Alban

Windows 10 Build 14393.693

Dual Video cards:

Intel HD Graphics 530
Nvidia Quadro M1000M

I haven't changed the BIOS settings on this, so I assume the choice is being made for me regarding which video card is being used. When i bring up Nvidia control panel it shows only one app on the Nvidia card (I have a few apps open)... so maybe that has something to do with it... will try closing that app to see what happens.

Lenovo P50 with 64GB of RAM

Doing more troubleshooting it appears to be related to Synergy. I never had the problem with the mac client, but it does appear to be related to windows client.

So please close/ignore.

Thanks and sorry for the false alarm.
