Question New chipsets/products and HDCP

Hey everyone, I have two questions:

1. There are a number of new DisplayLink products out there from Dell, Kensington, Lenovo, etc. I have been using an Anker USB 3.0 dock for a while, but I feel like there may be some benefit to using one of the newer products (better chipset, speed, etc.). Has anyone had any experience using one of these with Mac? Specifically looking at:

DELL ULTRAHD 4K USB 3.0 DOCKING STATION (D3100)
KENSINGTON K33983 4K DOCK
LENOVO THINKPAD USB 3.0 ULTRA DOCK
STARTECH USB3DOCKHDPC 4K DOCKING STATION

2. Following from that first question, do these newer docks also support HDCP to allow for watching videos in iTunes? If not, has anyone found a workaround to be able to play these videos while the DisplayLink dock is connected?

Also: shout out to the DisplayLink team for doing such a great job at getting this most recent release stable. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I have had phenomenal success with my dock at home and work, and it's allowed me to be way more productive since I can relax and focus on my work instead of troubleshooting problems. Thanks team!

Hi Paul

Thanks for contacting us.
Not working iTunes while DisplayLink screens are attached is well known problem. We raised it several times with Apple and the only answer we get, is that it's working as expected. We can't do anything on our end to make it better.

You can create a bug report about this and complain at bugreporter.apple.com.

Regards,
Adam
