Default Mimo monitor has phantom tapping / not responsive

We use the Mimo Magic Touch 10" touchscreen in our kiosks for the payment interface. We are running Windows 7 x64 and the latest version of DisplayLink (as of this message 7.5).

Occasionally a touchscreen will become unresponsive - it will display images correctly but not accept touch input. We have also noticed (using remote viewing software) that it appears that someone is tapping on the screen in the same spot in succession - however no one is actually using the kiosk and the touchscreen is not being used in any way.

On previous attempts we have - rebooted, uninstalled DisplayLink. Reinstalled various versions of DisplayLink, reinstalled main video drivers, checked cabling, moved the USB cables to different ports and replaced the screen(s). In some cases the screen becomes usable again after a complete shutdown, unplugging the computer and restarting the system. When we replaced the Mimo touchscreen the same issue occurs - but not always.

Has anyone else incurred "phantom" touch input without being able to actually use the touchscreen (with images displayed)?

With 20+ beta kiosks in the market, this is something that we must address quickly before we enter production.

THANKS!
