Default Windows 10 suddenly stopped recognizing my 2nd monitor

Hello! I have a Lenovo U430p laptop with an external VGA monitor plugged into a Displaylink-enabled i-Tec Usb3 Travel Docking station. The extended desktop setup has been working nicely for a long time (more than a year), but yesterday, the external monitor just mirrors the main desktop. I don't know if this is related to the last Win10 update I recently downloded and installed.

Once I go to screen control panel, Win10 is not recognizing the 2nd monitor any longer. DisplayLink Ethernet and pass-through USB port work nominally. At software level, DisplayLink processes are apparently working alright

I have tried this:
- Restarted everything, several times
- Physically plugged and unplugged the travel dock and monitor
- Tried to update graphics (Iris 5100) and USB3 drivers. No new versions.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled DisplayLink driver, twice (last stable version and last beta version)

No luck. I am now providing the requested support information:

Is DisplayLink software installed correctly? Yes

Is the DisplayLink service running? Yes

Does the USB device appear in device manager? Yes, but not as "DisplayLink" but as "Multi Function Adapter". I don't remember the previous name of the device.

Has the USB device booted correctly? Not applicable, I understand.

Do you have the latest graphics driver installed? Device manager reports no new controllers are available.

Do you have the latest USB 3.0 host controller driver installed? Device manager reports no new controllers are available.

After checking the above have you attached the log files? Yes

Thanks very much!

I am not a DisplayLink employee (so I cannot read your log files) but based on your description, can you double-check within the Display Settings application (available by right-licking on an empty space of your desktop) that the 'Multiple displays' option is set to 'Extend these displays'?

I ask because it sounds like that setting is presently set to 'Duplicate these displays'...

Thumbs up Omg...

This is embarrasing, but the simple solution given by rboerner was correct. Thanks very much!
