Default Laptop shows film, desktop shows screen saver

I've connected my laptop to my TV monitor. It shows the screen saver for the laptop, while the laptop itself shows the movie I want to be watching. What do I do to get the monitor to show the movie?

Hello,

You simply move the window to the new monitor.

By default, Windows will keep opening an application to the primary monitor, where it was last opened. This is normal Windows behaviour.

One things to be aware of: if your film and application require using HDCP, you must have a graphics adapter implementing HDCP to see the film on an external monitor.
As DisplayLink does not manufacture devices, I'm not able to tell you like that if your device does support HDCP without logs.

Regards,
Alban
