Default Connecting Ethernet causes dock to lock up?

Hi,

I have a dynadock U3.0 and I've started experiencing a problem where the display starts flashing and Ethernet drops out seemingly randomly.

It started just now so I tried downloading the support tool, but couldn't complete the download due to the problem, so I unplugged the network cable and switched to wireless...and it stopped doing it. I plugged the cable back in after the download completed and straight away the display blanked briefly and Windows showed the ethernet connection went from connecting to disconnected.

I searched here and couldn't see it's a known problem, any suggestions for troubleshooting this?

Support files attached.

Cheers

Hello,

The problem is very similar to the one I've described in this thread:

https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=67840

Which and how many monitor outputs are you using?

Yes it does seem similar. I'm using the DVI output and my monitor has a DVI input so no adaptors in the middle. I note you also experienced the problem over HDMI.

Do you know the chipset model of your device? Which device is?

It's a Toshiba dynadock U3.0, I don't know the chipset but from what I can see in the log files I have the hardware ID details from System_Details:

Code:
dynadock U3.0
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4305&REV_3015&MI_00
dynadock Ethernet
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4305&REV_3015&MI_05
dynadock U3.0
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4305&REV_3015&MI_01
dynadock Audio
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4305&REV_3015&MI_02
USB Composite Device
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4305&REV_3015
It looks virtually identical to yours except for the branding and extra 3.5mm audio ports on the back.

Hello, it seems the chipset is identical: DL-3900

I would suggest to replace the cable. Haven't you got a DVI-VGA adapter and a VGA cable?

Both display and dock have HDMI ports so I'll try that. Have you had any success opening the log files, they look encrypted or something?

Hi, I think only forum admins can download zipped logfiles.

Bah, it was looking good but connecting over HDMI made no difference. Any way to get the attention of an admin?
