Default HP G2 Docking Station Issues

Recently got a MacBook Air M2. I have two external monitors; currently, all I can do through my HP Thunderbolt G2 Dock (L14714-001) is mirror both screens. Looking at the website the HP G2 is compatible with DisplayLink, however, the screens will not extend into each other.

I enabled my Mac's screen recording and updated the HP docking station firmware. Any further suggestions as to the possible cause of the issue?

According to the information available here --> https://support.hp.com/us-en/product...075224/manuals the docking station you are using does NOT have DisplayLink technology inside of it. As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to help you.

Based on your description of the behavior, the docking station you are using has a DisplayPort Multi-stream hub inside of it (also known as DisplayPort MST).

Mac systems do not support DisplayPort MST, which is why both of your displays are mirrored. There is no workaround for this behavior, this is a limitation of macOS.

In order to add two external displays to your Mac, you will have to use a device based on DisplayLink technology. DisplayLink has a list of available products here --> https://www.synaptics.com/products/d...ylink-products
