Default M1 Air and DELL D6000 and LG 4K monitor not working

Everything including the D6000 has fully updated on all fronts.

The docking station works on my Windows 10 machine - so I know cable, docking station are functional.

Displaylink Manager 1.4 sees the monitor and reports as installed

Mac Display sees the monitor and allows me to adjust positioning

BUT, I only see black, black, black screen.

What else should I be doing?

Hello. Did you try unplugging the dock cable from the laptop and plugging it back in? I have to do this everytime on my M1 MBP, when I reboot or start up the laptop.

I've been having the same problem and have tried many different cables (all bidirectional ranging in price from $10 up to $60 with the same result). I have to open the System Preferences - Displays and hit the Gather Windows button and set the resolution down from 4K to 1920x1080 to make it display any images on my monitor. Incredibly annoying that I have this beautiful 4K LG monitor to use a fraction of the resolution.

What interface are you using from the D6000 to the monitor? HDMI or Displayport? If the later have your tried setting the monitor to DP1.1 or 1.2?

Hello Bruce,
The issue with the full dock not waking up at reboot when connected via USB-C has been identified and fixed by Dell on a non-DisplayLink component (the USB-C Power Delivery controller). That is why the issue was not observed in USB-A.

Dell distributes the fix on their website as a new firmware A04. Unfortunately, you will need to borrow a Windows machine as they have not made the flasher available for macOS.
Please note you must power cycle the docking station after the flashing has been successful for the new Power Delivery firmware to start being used.

DisplayLink firmware is not updated by that tool as we update the firmware via the driver.

Regards,
Alban
