Dell XPS 13 and Kensington SD3000V error
When I connect my Kensington Displayling to my laptop it detects as a "generic USB3.0 Superspeed Hub" - Windows 8.1, Dell XPS 13.
I've tried removing the software/running the drivercleaner, reinstalling and still the same outcome. Have also connected to both USB ports to no avail. The displaylink unit works perfectly well on my desktop running windows 8.1 so it's not a hardware fault. I've updated all the drivers to the latest one's from the dell site as well. Can anyone assist? |

Hi,
Can you attach the output from this tool? http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 Also does this happen on all USB ports on your XPS? Thanks, James |

Yes I've tried in both the left and right USB ports on the machine and it detects the same way - it also fails to install any valid driver and displays the warning triangle in device manager.
I've also tried the kensington SD3000V drivers and the latest displaylink drivers. It detects as VID_2109&PID_0811 in Device manager when I check. I've ran the tool supplied and have attached the output to the post. Last edited by mortis316uk; 03-24-2015 at 07:57 AM. |

OK so I've got it working, it appears to be some issue with the XPS USB 3.0 extensible host controller. If I connect it directly it fails to detect properly but if I connect up via a USB hub controller it works fine.
It's not perfect but at least the unit can be used now. |
