Default Lion Not Working

Hi folks,

I have a "custom" built Mac (due in part to the death of my expensive old system).

The software install is Lion 10.7.2 with no modifications to anything.

Video card installed is Nvidia 8400GS.

I have spent hours and hours trying to find a cause for the device to not work. When running on Snow Leopard (10.6.8) it functions correctly however on Lion (fresh install) with same hardware there is no life.

It appears the USB device is identified in the System Profiler but there is no monitor found in Displays.

I have attached diagnostic information in the hopes it may help.

Interesting. It seems to be a USB issue. No idea what's causing it, maybe some idiosyncrasy of the Lion driver with the SMSC host controller?
I'm sorry midii but we can't give more support on this hardware.

Thanks Carlo,

You have in fact helped me resolve the problem by pointing me in the best direction to look.

Installation of an older USBMassStorage kext has brought it all to life. Excellent!

Thanks
