Angry Mac Basics

Sorry for the very basic post here, but becoming increasingly frustrated with what should be a simple install process and wanted to canvass for opinion...

I recently purchased a displaylink adaptors for USB > HDMI (http://www.cablematters.com/pc-291-7...d-macbook.aspx)

Seems to work fine for Windows, but not working at all on my Mac. I am running 10.9.4 on an Intel powered machine, which by all reviews should work to at least some degree, but my OS doesn't even detect the display

If I can't get it working with my Mac I shall need to return the product

Any thoughts? Something obvious I may be missing? Worth rolling back to Mountain Lion?

Your issue seems coming from a missing driver , have you run the dedicated driver , and which one? 2,1 2,2 ??It works fine here with Imac 2,5 G but other problems occurs... like CPU keep running hot, endless logs.. Apple tv cant work.. as you can see in all these posts .. nobody has achieved a proper running of this product at all.give up !
