imo again please help

ok this is last chance saloon or i give up

when i connect my imo to any other cable longer than the one supplied - i get nothing

i want to attach a 5 mtr extension so i can operate - eg itunes from a seated area

so i have on order - which should come today - a 5 mtr usb 2 repeater cable

will this do it ?

ive even bought a usb 2 hub so i give it direct power - on normal usb 2 extensions - no luck

also what is the possibility to attach a rj45 adaptor on each end with a rj45 5 mtr cable --- will this work

i believe the normal cable are too long to transfer the power etc

please someone give a little advise

one of the imo,s are vesa mountable - so this must be possible unless your gonna attach the computer to the wall 1/2 a mtr away

maybe the repeater is the answer - until i try i wont know

hopefully someone will know

The Minimons are power from the USB port and can be close to the maximum power that can be delivered from a USB port. This is why they ship with a cable that can connect to 2 USB ports on the laptop.

If you get a 5m Y-cable so you can get 2xUSB power from the PC or USB Hub, it should work, as long as there is not too much power lost over the cable.
