Default DL driver 4.2 performance issues on Ubuntu 17.10

Hi,

I currently switched from an Windows environment to Ubuntu 17.10.
Unfortunately I'm discovering Hugh performance issues with the latest DL Driver
at Ubuntu. Windows is working totally fine on the same hardware.
To the Problems:

After install, the Monitor is detected and everything seams to be working fine. But as soon as I enable the Monitor in the Display settings the Frame rate drops on all three Monitors (Laptop Display, external over HDMI and external over DL).

This means the mouse is moving really slow and windows need seconds to open. I can literally watch their opening process.

I have tried to install the older version 4.1 and the workarounds described here:

displaylink-ubuntu-driver-after-recent-x-upgrades

But none of them did the trick.

The solution mentioned in this Thread:

Code:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/evdi/add
gives me the following error:

Code:
bash: /sys/devices/evdi/add: No such file or directory
I'm sending the output of the Linux support tool attached.

I would really appreciate your help.

If any further information is needed I'm happy to provide it.

Thanks!
