Default 1280x720 missing from options

I have a iogear GUC2020DW6 USB to DVI video adapter. For some reason, I cannot get it to show 1280x720. It will show 1920x1080 but my monitor doesn't support 1080. I need 1280x720 (which I thought was a default option on the displaylink cards)

I have attached my debugs.

I've tried the latest drivers of both my nvidia card and the displaylink software, but reverted back to 5.4 when I still couldn't get it working.

From the logs, the modes are:

Modes: EDID: monitor MIT2010 (DVI to VGA ) modes: 640x480@59.9405, 640x480@67.2311, 640x480@72.8088, 640x480@75, 720x400@70.0866, 800x600@56.25, 800x600@60.3165, 800x600@75, 800x600@72.1876, 832x624@74.8364, 1024x768@60.0038, 1024x768@70.0694, 1024x768@75.0286, 1152x864@75, 1152x870@74.8591, 1280x800@59.8103, 1280x960@60, 1280x1024@75.0247, 1360x765@59.8476, 1400x1050@59.9784, 1440x900@59.8874, 1600x1200@60, 1680x1050@59.9543, 1920x1080@60 RB

1280x720 is not in this list, which is why we don't list it as an available mode for this monitor.

If we cannot read the mode list from the monitor, then we will offer lots of modes, including 1280x720, but if we can read the modes we will only offer those supported by the display.

I seen somewhere in one of these forums posts about being able to force a resolution with some of the newer drivers.

I know the monitor supports this resolution, it just isn't sending it through EDID. What can we do?

So I found the post saying it can be done modifying the registry, but no instructions on what you have to do.
