Lenovo USB 3.0 Basic Disconnecting Frequently
Hello - I have gone through all of the steps on the page about multiple disconnects and reconnects. I thought I fixed the problem by using a different USB port on my laptop, but it just happened again.
How often does the issue occur? - 3-5 times per day How do you invoke the issue? - Usually typing or moving the mouse How do you recover from the issue? - It recovers automatically Was the issue present in older versions of DisplayLink software? - I used the same USB Hub on my Lenovo X1 Gen 3 for years without an issue. It is now happening on X1 Gen 7 - EVERYTHING has been updated, including Bios How are you connected to the DisplayLink device? Directly or through a USB hub? - USB cable that came with the Lenovo USB 3.0 Basic Hub |

Hello,
Thank you for the report. I see USB errors, but no crashing here. The computer is trying to reset the connection unsucessfully and terminates normally. I have to refer this to engineering to look into. As soon as I have feedback or questions I will reply to this thread. Kind regards, Alban Ref 30806

Can you tell me what is causing the USB errors? I had another issue with the USB Hub on my last computer where the mouse was triggering disconnects. A new mouse fixed the problem.
Thanks, Mike |

Hello Mike,
If I'm not mistaken you are using a 2.4GHz mouse and keyboard. I'd advise keeping the receiver (USB dongle) away from a USB3 cable or port as USB3/2.4GHz are known to be able to interfere with each other. But I can't tell you what lead to your issue. We do not capture USB packets: even if it was possible, it would be privacy intrusive and consume your hard drive space (video, Ethernet and audio packets). I have asked engineering if they could link the signature of the state, to potential reasons leading to it. Kind regards, Alban

I have a wired keyboard, but I am using this 2.4Ghz Mouse:
https://www.logitech.com/en-ca/produ...ess-mouse-m510 The receiver is plugged into the USB Hub. Are you saying to keep the 2.4Ghz receiver away from the USB ports on the laptop? |
