Display Link USB Hub working but Display and Network not functioning
I have this exceptionally frustrating issue with the DisplayLink Beyond HD port replicator I use with my Dell XPS 15 laptop.
It works fine for months if I don't unplug the laptop. If I need to disconnect the laptop and return the following day I can never get the DisplayLink working properly again. It recognises the USB hub in the DisplayLink, but I can't see any other components recognised in device manager. The network and graphics are not coming up. I have installed the latest USB 3 drivers from intel (New ones came out this month), and I have installed the latest Display Link drivers (7.5M1). The DisplayLink support tool doesn't think the device is connected, but it is as its registered all the devices that are connected through the USB hub. I've attached the zip file from the tool after enabling the logging. I've spent all morning starting things up in different orders and powering on and off the laptop and port rep - I've done all combinations and reinstalled all combinations of drivers. I can't find any decent support articles that have helped me. Please can you advise? |

I've got the same issue too
I can usually get around it by unplugging the dock from power for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. Usually after a few tries everything works - seems like faulty hardware to me.

Swap Out the ACP70 Item 60 or Lower
Marky and Bhaloo65,
If the dock is an ACP70 Item 60 or lower, swap it out with Targus under warranty. If not, let me know. Item 61 or different model all together like ACP71 should work well. Marky, I also recommend updating your graphics driver to Intel v. 9.18.10.3223 or better. Regards, DocKevin |

It's a ACP70 Item 60. Was purchased through DELL when I bought my laptop. Should it go back to them as its less than a year old? My colleague has the same issues but usually can get it back cycling the power a few times.

Having the same problem with a Dell Presicion M3800
Brand new laptop. My Targus USB 3.0 Dock works fine with my old laptop but when I connect to my new Dell M3800, only the USB ports work. No Ethernet or video.

ACP70 Only
No, this is applicable to the ACP70 Item 60 and below only. For the ACP076, please contact your Targus support team, in the US at 1.800.283.6325.
