Default New DisplayLink 7.5m1 installs - Wont work

Installed new DisplayLink 7.5m on my Windows 8.1 machine. Now I cant get the USB to recognize the device. Shows up in windows device manager -

Other Devices - Plugable UGA-165

Software seems to install with no errors but I can not get it to enable my USB 2.0 adapter.

Worked great on the older version but even when I try to go backwards with a restore - I cant get the device to enable.

I have tried to update drivers for the UGA-165 and I get "The data is invalid"

Please help.

Hi,

Please try these steps:

Right click on device in device manager (under Other devices)
Select Driver
Select Update Driver
Select Browse my computer for driver software
Select Browse
Enter C:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software\
Check Include subfolders
Select Next

If that doesn't help please attach the output of this tool:

Thanks,

Default Attempted

Went ahead and tried those steps. Ended up running tweaking.com and repairing file permissions and registry security.

seems something screwed up and was not allowing me to install any new device drivers.

Life is good now.

Thanks
