Default Display Link has stopped working

I have DisplayLink running on my windows 8.1 machine.
Until yesterday it was working fine.
Usually I turn on my laptop and my connected monitor works straight away.
However this morning for some reason my laptop does not seem to recognise that there is a monitor connected to it.
The DisplayLink icon is also missing from the taskbar in the bottom right of my screen.

I have tried uninstalling and then re-installing the DisplayLink driver, and then rebooting my laptop but it has not worked.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Has anything changed on your setup that may have caused this? New Windows updates? New hardware?
