Default ultrawide monitor works with windows10 but not macosx

Hi all,

I have an Accell USB dock I plan to use with my Samsung ultrawide monitor which res is 3440x1440 (21:9). the dock works with my windows laptop with that monitor, however, with my MacBook, the res was downgraded to 2560x1440 (16:9) and stretched to 21:9.

The CPU on Macbook is even newer than my windows one. any idea will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

I have the same problem with Dell UltraSharp Curved U3415W. Choosing to see other resolutions does not offer the resolution.

This display is also daisy chained to another display and that display will not presently show a picture. However, the displays reports that the MHz is not set correctly and should be adjusted in order to see a picture.

You mention, 'This display is also daisy chained to another display and that display will not presently show a picture.'

The connection method you describe is based on DisplayPort multi-stream transport technology, also known as DisplayPort MST --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Displa...ransport_(MST) . DisplayPort is a completely different technology than DisplayLink.

DisplayPort MST is NOT supported in macOS. This is a limitation of the macOS operating system.
