Default Usb mouse and monitor lag when closing laptop lid

Hi
I use a Dell D6000 to connect an external monitor on the DisplayPort of my laptop via Displaylink. I use Debian 11 that has a port of the latest displaylink driver for ubuntu.
I have as well as a wireless Logitech usb mouse&keyboard connected.

When I close the lid of the laptop, the usb mouse and keyboard lag about 5 seconds after typing or clicking. Open lid -> no lag. Same behaviour if I turn off the laptop screen via
xrandr --output eDP-1 --off

There is no clue in dmesg, kern.log or Xorg.0.log indicating problems with either displaylink, usbmouse or usbkeyboard.

Any suggestion?
Thanks,
M. Natiello
