Default HP NL571AA Adepter Does not display at 1920x1080

Dear Folks,
Hello, this is my first post here. I recently purchased a HP NL571AA display link adapter specifically because I wanted to support the native resolution of 1920x1080 for my Dell P2414H Monitor (24 inch flat panel display). The specifications (see here) for this product on HPs site say the device supports 1920x1080 as it's maximum resolution. However, I could only get it to display at 1600 x 900 as the top resolution offered.


I have two of these monitors running on a MacBook Pro 13" (late 2012 to early 2013 model) under Windows 7 (x64 bit). One is connected directly to the Mac via it's Thunderbolt to VGA Adapter and runs at 1920x1080. The other is connected to the aforementioned displaylink adapter and as I mentioned it cannot be set for this resolution.

The adapter is dated 2009. I have tried the drivers from HP (see here), and the divers from display link (see here). Both of them top out at 1600x900. How can I get this adapter to display at the required 1920x1080 that it is said to support.

Can you attach the output of this tool http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...rticles/533818 so I can investigate?

Do you get the same issue if you swap the monitors?

I have not tried swapping the monitors as they are both the same make and model.

Hi,

Can you try these tests to help pinpoint the issue?

1. Swap the monitors over - so we can rule out this being a monitor issue
2. Swap the adapters over - so we can rule out this being an adapter issue

1. Well swapping over the monitors did what I expected. Now the left one has a higher maximum resolution than the right (my monitors are the same make and model).

2. I'm not sure what you want me to do here. As mentioned I'm running Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro 13" (2012 to early 2013 model). How can I swap a graphics adapter that is internal and part of the main circuit board with my display link adapter connected by USB?

Hi,

I've just been trying to reproduce your problem.

I don't have a MBP running Windows but I do have a stock Dell Latitude running Windows 7 x64.

So far I tried a NL571AA HP adapter on a P2314H with 7.9 & 7.8 DisplayLink software and haven't seen this issue.

Could you try updating the Intel graphics driver for your notebook?

I'd recommend picking up the latest version.

Hey there! I am having this exact issue. Was there ever a solution?

I am using the NL571AA adapter with an Intel HD 4600 On board graphics.

Two monitors are 1080p but the DisplayLink adapter only goes to 1600x900.

I have tried many combinations of cable methods. My options per input are:

Monitor 1: VGA, HDMI
Monitor 2: VGA, HDMI
Monitor 3: DVI, DisplayPort

My computer graphics card outputs are DIsplayport and HDMI

The NL571AA has a DVI female end but I have many adapters available.

I have interchanged the adapter to each monitor and cannot solve the issue.

Please help it’s super appreciated.

Hello,

I understand my colleague created a bug from your ticket with the log files you provided.
Logs did capture the event properly: we can see the mode is recognised but removed as unsupported.
He will follow up on the ticket when engineering has done the analysis as to why this took place.
