Default Outlook freezes when laptop is charging

This was the strangest thing I've seen and actually took me a while to figure out why this was happening. I don't know how to resolve it.

Windows 8.1, latest Display Link drivers are installed, Dell laptop. Microsoft Outlook works properly when charging and not hooked up to the DisplayLink. When plugged into DisplayLink and charging the laptop Microsoft Outlook begins getting patchy on screen. Seems to work normally but portions of the window are missing and it's very choppy. I've tried restarting, stopping unnecessary background apps, every other app works fine, chrome, ie, skype, etc.

If i have outlook open, DisplayLink hooked up and plug the charger in, it will begin having issues, even if I unplug the charger it will not sort itself out until I restart the laptop.

Any ideas how to resolve this?
