Display never found on Lion 1.7.3
Hello,
I just bought USB 2.0 to HDMI adapter to use with a Dell U2410 24" (1920X1200). I first installed the latest driver from DisplayLink 1.8a1. When I first plugged the adapter in, I never got any reaction. After that I have tried (after searching here and on the web); - installing the other drivers - connecting in different orders - starting in safe mode - tried different displays - resetting the PRAM and NVRAM - repairing permissions Nothing seem to work and when I tried the adapter with a PC it worked fine. I have run the diagnostic tool you recommended and the file is attached here. This is what I ca read from the system messages: Quote:
I have a late 2011 macbook pro 15" with 8GB Ram and a Samsung SSD. The adapter seem to be found by OSx and appear as "WS Tech USB TO HDMI" under "system information". Have anyone experienced problems like this or have a clue of where to begin? All the best J |

It looks to be an installation issue, please repair the disk permissions as suggested in http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=318 and then try to install again.
The installer says in the logs that it can't find /Library/LaunchAgents It's strange because it's heavily used by Lion as well. Just double check that you really have that folder! Carlo |

Thanks Carlo.
I did not have the LaunchAgents folders as you pointed out. I will create it and try to reinstall the driver 1.8 alpha. I will repair permissions before I do the install! I'm not sure I did this the last time. I remember spotting something about permissions in the log during the install. I think it was output from the "SecurityServer" regarding a failed attempt to do something. I'm very greatful for your help! Johannes Last edited by schabbelfarfar; 03-16-2012 at 07:00 AM. |

The LaunchAgents folder seem to have solved the problem. I did as you said as well as repaired permissions once again after adding the LaunchAgents folder.
I thought this was a hopeless case but but no...! =) Thank you very much for the help! All the best Johannes |
