I would advise giving more details as initially asked by my colleague.
The likely cause is you have an out of spec monitor, too out of spec for the chip to handle.
That ended up being the case of the first monitor mentioned.
Kind regards,
Alban

I created my own thread on this a couple of days ago and just noticed this thread. i have the same / similar issue. the monitors shows up in device manager as well as in screen properties (they are small boxes compared to the laptop screen). Nothing shows up on the screen for either of the display ports.

There must have been some sort of update that broke this.

I am having the same issue. I just got the Dell D6000 Docking station and whenever I plug my monitor Dell Alienware AW2518H using the display port it doesn't work at all.. I just get the black screen on my monitor. Plugging the same monitor using HDMI works fine... Any ideas ?

I am having the same problem on the dell D6000 with two monitors , one on hdmi and one on DP.
starting to wonder if displaylink technology is flawed.

Default Same for me on D6000

I'm getting exactly the same.

I have had a D3100 device for a couple of years without problems. I have my HP Omen X 35 (3440x1440) screen connected to the displayport and a HD monitor (Dell U2414H) connected to the HDMI and everything works.
For various reasons I wanted my laptop to connect to the HP Omen X via the HDMI instead of the displayport, but the D3100 can’t drive a screen bigger than 2560x1440.
I bought a D6000 because this supposedly can drive a 3440x1440 screen through the HDMI and I can connect the U2414H to a displayport.

Unfortunately, when I try the D6000 I can’t get anything through either of the displayport connectors – Windows doesn’t detect a monitor connected and the monitor doesn’t detect anything connected. The LAN, USB and HDMI seem fine, there are no problems there. I tried on 2 separate USB connectors on the laptop and 2 different monitors. I have the latest DisplayLink drivers, I have the latest Intel and NVidia drivers on my laptop and I updated the D6000 with the latest firmware successfully.

I was about to return the D6000 as faulty but I noticed there are too many others with the same problem. Did you get a solution?
