Default targus ACP70 displays stopped working

I have TWO Targus AVP70USZ docking stations.
While they have occasionally been finicky about reviving the screen after sleep,
powercycle or reboot usually fixes the problem.

Within the last week or two, the displays have been acting up and now no longer work.
BOTH docks no longer work.

USB works fine on the dock (I can see a flash drive on the dock).

Setup:
Macbook Pro 2015 15"
Targus AVP70USZ
Dell 20" displays using DVI-D connected to Targus dock.

Software:
Sierra 10.12.6
Displaylink 4.0.0 (last installed nov 22)

How likely is this an OS or patching issue?

downgraded to 3.1.0 drivers and reset hardware - is working now.
Hopefully without flaking out like it did before (which prompted the 4.0.0 upgrade in the first place... which worked... for a few days)

From the behaviour it looks like hardware, but on both docks is unlikely unless it's because of a faulty power supply. Maybe USB on the Mac or cable: I've seen issues where devices would enumerate but any bulk transfer would die.
You could try doing a transfer from the USB drive to check that.

To be sure, you could send us the logs collected following these instructions: http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...to-displaylink

We should be able to tell from these.

Regards,
Carlo
