Default OSX Yosemite refresh rate problems

Hi,

I have a pretty major issue where my MacBook Pro Retina 15" on OS X 10.10.5 is having difficulty in the monitor display being able to catch up with what is displayed on my MBP Retina screen.

The actual display of animated graphics in the OS is very jerky. For instance the opening of the Downloads folder on the dock and scrolling down the opened dock folder is very jerky.

Also, the display of the toolbar menu items File, Edit, View etc within certain apps such as Word disappear or are invisible although they are actually still there when I click on them.

After about an hour or so of activity my fan will be worked so hard i have to disconnect the screen to let the fan cool down.

These issues only occur when I have the DisplayLink and EliteDisplay E231 attached.

I also have the following error message from Photoshop CS6 on start up.

I am using your DisplayLink v2.4
