Missing top of Bookmark bar in Chrome

Update to 1.8 and running SL on older white iMac.

When on the USB connected monitor the top 2 entries in my bookmarks bar when using Chrome are blocked by the title bar yet when I drag out the window to the main window the popup bar overrides the title bar as it should.

Another thing I noticed is that some web sites do not scroll yet if I point the mouse over the list of hotlinked choices - think news site with hot links to articles, in the lower right corner it is displaying the selected mouse over site URL but the main display is not moving. It happens on some but not all sites.
