Default Macbook Air 10.13.6 - wrong resolution

Hey everyone,
for me the Driver version 4.3 using AirPlay mostly works for my 10.13.6 Mac, but no matter what I do, I don't get the correct resolution. Should be 1600x900, but best I get is 1440x900 which then shows two black bars on the sides. Every other resolution is blurry.

The Alt-key solution doesn't work, it showed various new resolutions, but not 1600x900.

What to do? Would an update to Mojave (10.14) solve this issue?

Sorry if this was asked already, I tried using the forum search and was surprised to find no results. Maybe it's this forum software that clearly comes straight from the year 1998.

Thanks for any advice!

Best,
David

With the 4.3 release, you can set custom resolutions for screens that use the AirPlay workaround in 10.13.4+. Look for a new icon with a menu in the top bar. More here: https://displaylink.org/forum/showth...6656#post86656

Please read https://support.displaylink.com/foru...ve-10-14-early to decide if this is a good moment for you to upgrade to Mojave.

Cheers,
Michal

Hi Michael,
thanks. Yeah the DisplayLink menu added by the 4.3 driver also doesn't show the correct 1600x900 resolution. I've done all of those basic steps, read your FAQ on the 4.3, spent significant time on the phone with both Apple and AOC (my monitor manufacturer).

Nobody can help. This is really sad.

The Mojave thread doesn't mention anything about the update helping with resolutions.

Can you attach logs from our support tool? It would give us some more information about the monitor, and we can see why 1600x900 is not listed.

I pointed out the Mojave thread because if you can upgrade to Mojave already (i.e. your Mac is older than 2018), it is recommended - full extended display support for DisplayLink has been restored in Mojave.

Thanks
Michal

It looks like it's just stretching 1920x1080 to the resolution you pick - my monitor's native resolution is 1920x1200 and it looks blurry - picking 1920x1080 gives you black bars top+bottom but readable text on your IDEs and browsers.
