Angry Mac OS X Issue

I'm on a MacBook Pro 15-inch 2015. My AOC 156LM00003 worked great for a few months, but recently started blacking out randomly. I knew it was still connected, because when it isn't my applications open on the extra display move to my main display but that didn't happen and my mouse would move around on the black display (I couldn't see it, but I could drag pages to my main display). I figured I may need a new driver, so I uninstalled the original driver I had and I downloaded the new one at http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/osx released in June of this year. When I try to install it, I keep getting "The following disc image could not be opened. Protocol wrong type for socket". Does anyone have a solution to this? Now I can not use the monitor at all.

Hi,

I've never seen this type of issue. It's not a problem for me on 10.11.5.
I just found one post so far: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7568956?tstart=0
Can you try with some other disk image to see if it's the same issue in 10.11.5?

Thank you,
Carlo
