Unhappy Unable to play SimCity 5

Hi,

I can't start the new game SimCity 5 with installed DisplayLink Drivers.
When I start the game, the screen flickers (in an endless loop). I filmed it.

I tested with disconnected DisplayLink adapter, I stopped the DisplayLink service and tried a lots more. But the only way to play the game is when I uninstall the DisplayLink software.

By the way I use the latest version of the driver.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Win 7 or Win 8? I think there are problems with full screen games on Win 8 we're investigating.

I have the same issue. I just recently posted, that I have for over a year now problems with StarCraft II. Since I am just playing then and when, it did not bother me that much - with my old laptop. With my new one, I started playing more, since it has a lot more graphics-power. BUT, I also use it for regular work. And for me, it only helps to uninstall the drivers.

Now, I wanted to play the (new) SimCity, since it also offers an offline Mode. Unfortunately I did not check further. So, I installed the game and I have the same problem: endless loop of flickering. No errors (not even in the event manager). It just...turns the screen black...and back.

It is really frustrating because now I have to decide: work or play. I am not willing to always install and uninstall my drivers! Please fix this!

I am also running Windows 7 pro 64 bit, with latest updates and latest DisplayLink drivers.

There are problems with fullscreen games on Windows 7 as well. There are several threads on the issue that are largely being ignored by yourselves.

I agree. The post I read first about this issue was: http://plugable.com/2013/04/04/displ...version-7-2-m0

And that one is from April 2013!

Uh, just see that Version 7.6 is available whicht states in the release notes for fixed issues :

Sometimes Displaylink monitor flickers when running DirectX application in full
screen (16260)

Cant' wait to test if this fix works...

Well, I've installed the new driver and tried to change settings in StarCraft II from Windows Full Screen to only Full Screen. But SC2 tells me, there was a problem - like with the previous driver(s).

SimCity 5 I have not checked so far since I haven't installed it at the moment! Will try it some days later.

Anyway, the full screen mode does not work (for SC2 at least) though it is stated in the release notes it has been fixed....

Could someone from DisplayLink please investigate?
