Default DisplayLink Manager and scripting

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a workaround to be able to use apple watch parallel with DL.

I've watched on youtube one guy, who used "stream deck" software + shortcut to disable DL Manager while log off and enable it after log in.
This seems to work really well but it forces me to buy quite expensive.

Is there any way to manage DisplayLink via commandline / applescript / automator API?
If not, do you have plans to add this simple feature which allows as to make our own scripts?

I was wondering if maybe you was trying to find that kind of bypass, maybe there is a way to disable screen recording if there is a problem to do that with DLM?

Thx for all answer. Best regards

When you say, "I'm looking for a workaround to be able to use apple watch parallel with DL." my impression is you wish to be able to unlock your system with an Apple Watch while a DisplayLink device is in use.

Presuming for the moment that my understanding is correct, DisplayLink recently posted DisplayLink Manager Application 1.5 BETA --> https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1732 that includes beta support for using an Apple Watch to unlock the system.

The release notes --> https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/a...ease+Notes.txt speak to this in more detail:

(snip)
C. Changes in this release
=============================

C.4 Changes in 1.5.0 beta
----------------------------
- Introducing additional inferred resolutions on 4K monitors: 2560x1440 and 3008x1692
- Beta: Apple Watch unlock when resuming displays from sleep (33190)
- Fixed monitors power save mode issue on macOS Monterey 12 beta (33198)
- Improved memory management on rotated screen (33179)
- Improved rotated monitor performance on dual GPU machines (33072)
(end snip)

** Note - this feature needs to be manually enabled within the DisplayLink Manager Application via the application's status icon in the Apple Menu bar **

You are welcome. FYI, DisplayLink posted a KB article about this feature here --> https://support.displaylink.com/know...ticles/1977291
