Sierra and USB Monitor
Hi, I have a new MacBook Pro (2016) 15" with Sierra 10.12.3, latest DisplayLink drivers and an ASUS MB 169B+ USB monitor connected via the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter. Also latest drivers from Asus.
On first connecting the USB monitor, I received a message to say the device plugged in was not compatible and updated drivers were needed. Both ASUS and Displaylink drivers are now loaded. No new message when re-connecting USB monitor. Nothing, not a blink, not a flash, nothing....USB Monitor remains blank.....any help out there would be appreciated. Edit: Should also mention that the power light on the on/off button of the monitor does flash on for a second then dies. Monitor works OK with OS 10.11.1 Last edited by Tony R; 02-22-2017 at 12:20 PM. |

Hi Tony,
First guess would be a power issue. To check, I'd open the System Report (Apple menu->About this Mac->System Report) and check the USB section. Is the ASUS monitor listed in the USB devices? If not, it's likely power. In case, not much we can do on the driver side but there may be workarounds with different connections. How is the monitor connected? Is the OS complaining about power? Kind regards, Carlo |
