Question Is DisplayLink the answer for me?

Hi all,

I have a 6-screen setup here which I need to control from, if possible, just 1 PC (windows or linux, whichever works best)

screens will be displaying web sites (some animation/flash happening, but no fullscreen video), probable resolution 1280x1024.

can I handle this with 1 PC and 6 DisplayLink cables/adapters?

Which DisplayLink product(s) should I look at?

greetings,
Evert

Yes, this should be possible through Windows and Linux (although Linux would need some more configuration - its not just plug and play on Linux).

You would need a DisplayLink adapter for each screen, probably connected through (powered) USB hubs.

What kind of hardware would I need to control these 6 (or perhaps 5, if the box has its own VGA-out as well) displaylink screens? Does this require some fat quad-core i7 box, or can a fanless Atom handle it?

greetings/groeten,
Evert
