Default CinemaHD and Macbook Pro (2009 model)

Hi,
I am having issues to get my monitor to be recognized by the displaylink driver properly.
The hardware is BVUMD3. It automatically detects a third monitor fine (I have a second already through the displayport, see attached image), but when I plug in the actual DVI cable, the third monitor disappears and it only displays two.

system.log gets this event:
12-03-01 6:44:42.000 PM kernel: 0 0 AppleUSBCDC: start - initDevice failed

Attaching a zip with the displaylink information as I've seen asked for in quite a few threads here while trying to find similar issues.

I saw that there were a few issues with the 2009 model that I have, so I borrowed a 2011 model MBP, and I have the same issue there, so that makes me believe the monitor somehow isn't supported, but that sounds pretty weird, since it should be pretty standard (It's an old CinemaHD screen with a DVI connector)

I have tried to remove the displayport and different orders of plugging things in and turning them on/off, just to see if it's a protocol handshake issue, but I haven't been able to find an order that makes a difference.
