Default DisplayLink software won't start

It was working but them I had a problem with "LoadLibrary failed with error 87". I muddled my way through that, but in the process, now DisplayLink won't run. Window 8.1, iCore i5, Dell Mobile Precision 7710 laptop, using http://targus.com/us/universal-usb-3...tion-acp70usz# and DisplayLink so I can see my laptop screen on an external (larger) monitor.

Attached is log from DisplayLink Support Tool 1.0.0.25

Somewhere along the line I got "Before installing DisplayLink Core software and drivers, please install up to date OEM drivers for your PCs graphics hardware" but I don't know the difference between the OEM driver and the AMD Catalyst driver I had to download to get rid of the LoadLibrary error.

What next?

Hi Kathryn,

The current OEM graphics driver (from Dell in your case) should be suitable:

The latest AMD graphics driver (which tends to be newer than the OEM version) can be found on the AMD website.

Let me know if you still have problems after installing the above OEM graphics driver.

Thanks,
James
