Default Dell XPS 13 Touch Screen / Driver Issues

I just purchased a Dell XPS 13 Touch with 4K screen resolution (3200x1800).

I had no issues with my previous computer using the exact same monitor setup, but now Displaylink is randomly unstable when attached to the XPS 13, for example:

- the two connected monitors stop working and only the laptop screen is active (sometimes the monitors will work again if I remove the USB plug from the laptop, sometimes they don't work until I do a hibernate or reboot)
- all the screens freeze but come back after I hibernate the computer
- the monitor resolutions change while the computer is on
- the two connected monitors stop working momentarily (all open windows move to the laptop) and then they come back on line (it's happened 3 or 4 times in a 5 minute period)

I'm running DL v 7.9.1336.0 and have the latest drivers for the monitors and the laptop.

Could it have something to do with the 4k screen of the XPS 13?

Terry

Same laptop with Dell DA100 display link. Did a windows update (Windows10) two days ago and it all died. Got windows to update drivers which has solved all but the Ethernet driver which still doesn't work, but may solve your display issues (it did mine).

Thanks for that info Roy.

I updated all drivers last week, had to go to MS / Intel to get 520 video driver because Dell still has older driver.

I had similar Ethernet issue on last computer but got that fixed...don't recall what I did to fix it though :-( Hope you get that quickly fixed.

I was considering the DA200 adapter which plugs into the USB-C computer port, but hearing of your problems I'm now going to have to do more research before making that purchase.

Hi Roy,

Can you try the steps in this FAQ regarding your ethernet issue?

Hello James,

I submitted that twice and person named Jakob Malek has responded / is working the issue which he said he elevated to Engineering.

I don't want to duplicate your effort but I'm happy to generate and provide that again.

Please let me know and I'll upload that file.

Hi
I'd appreciate you looking at mine, can't get the Ethernet to work, lack of driver. Have tried da100 (7.3) from dell and 7.4 from display link site.

Hi James
Missed your earlier post, tried the drivers in core folder and all is well with the world.
Many thanks

James,

I'm making a big assumption, but if DL / Targus is working with Dell on the USB-C dock, do you know when that might be available?
