Default Windows 7 HDMI Resolution Issues

Hi,

Just bought my USB/HDMI adapter & when connected to my HDMI capable AOC 23" monitor I can't get resolution above 1280x720. It's running off a Lenovo R400 with Intel GM45 video. The resolution of the laptop screen is 1280x800, but as soon as I go above 1280x720 in extended mode on the main screen it gets all glitchy, until i hit 1920x1080 and it's just black, but the led on the monitor is showing it's on.

I've upgraded from driver 5.6 to 6 but it hasn't helped.

Any ideas ? Attached are the logs.

Cheers,
Ben

Could you try the new v6.0 M1 release here:

http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.php

This does have some fixes for the timing on HDMI at some resolutions, but it's 50/50 it will fix this. If it doesn't, then let me know and I'll raise a bug with the information you posted.

It would also be good to know if it is just this monitor that doesn't work at these resolutions, or does it happen on all monitors?

Thanks

Wim

Hi Wim,

Still the same issue. If I change the resolution from 60Hz to 50hz when the res is at 1920x1080 I get a lot of broken, rotating images from the windows background. If I switch back to 60Hz the screen is black.

I don't have another monitor to test it with at the moment. I'll try to get one when I'm in my office next.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers,
Ben

I am just raising the bug, but am a bit confused as to what the issue is. I assumed that it was the DisplayLink HDMI monitor that was not working at 1920x1080, but reading your report again, do you mean your laptop screen gets corrupted when the extended DisplayLink screen is at this resolution.

If you can clarify exactly what the problem is, then I can try and raise a bug.

Sorry for the confusion.

It is the DisplayLink HDMI connected monitor that is not working at 1920x1080. The laptop screen is fine.

The only time the DisplayLink HDMI connected monitor works is at 1280x720.

Cheers,
Ben

OK - Thanks. That is what I thought but wasn't sure from your description.
