Unhappy MacBook Pro and USB "too much power" problems

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) with the 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo. I purchased the BVU195 to run a third monitor.

Currently, I have an extra monitor plugged in through a VGA adapter to the display port. I downloaded the beta of the software and tried using the BVU195 to connect a third monitor using the VGA adapter.

As soon as I plug in the BVU195 to the Mac, I get the following warning:
USB Devices Disabled. Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices.

I tried uninstalling the software, and then installing the regular software...no luck.

When I plug in the USB and get the warning, the picture on the VGA connected monitor through the display port starts flickering as well.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

probably the only thing you could do is to run this via a powered external USB hub.

I agree. Never tried running two USB monitors un-powered but I am pretty sure you will need a powered USB hub.

Yes this is all about power available. In this case the device exceeds the power available from the host. As mentioned by Ludacrispv and MAC you'll need a powered hub. Or a powered dock instead of the adapter.
