Default Hdr/hdcp2.2/hdmi 2.0a and ultra hd bluray

Hello,

I have a dell inspiron 7577 with powerdvd18/7700HQ/intel 630/gtx1060/external ultrahd drive/usbc/thunderbolt/last w10, but dell never enable hdmi out with intel 630, so i want to use a wavlink USB 3.0/USB C Ultra 5 K(DL 6950), is this good to have 4k hdr on my Sony zd9?

Best regards

Hello,

I'm sorry but unfortunately this will not work, no.

There are too many missing links in every elements of the chain for this to happen soon.
More importantly, the HDMI 2.0 output cannot feature HDCP 2.2 of that product which is a hardware block requirement so will never happen on this product even if everybody does their software part. This might eventually be possible with an additional DisplayPort -> HDMI supporting acting as an HDCP 2.2 repeater but software would still not work today.

There is a goal for this to happen via our technology and we are progressing. But like anything about HDCP, there is so much red tape that I can't tell you when.

Kind regards,
Alban
