Default Macbook Air / 10.13.6 / no display port option

Hi, I'm a rookie at this, but I need some help. I have a 2017 MacBook Air and two external monitors. I have one monitor connected to my MacBook Air through the displayport. I have another connected with an HDMI to USB adapter and I just downloaded the 4.3 Beta 5 driver and have followed all of the instructions and the second monitor (connected with the HDMI to USB adapter) is dark. The monitor seems to detect the connection but my MacBook doesn't. I was hoping to set them up as extended displays but I'm out of my league. Help!

+1 - I'm running 10.13.6 and followed all the steps here: https://support.displaylink.com/know...ys-on-mac-os-x

When I plug in the USB, my monitor reacts, turns on and is lit up (with a black screen). But no options come up for Airplay.

Help?
