Default MacBook Pro 2012 on 10.14 vs. LG Monitor M228WD

Hi,

HDMI > Mini DisplayPort

Everything works fine and straight away without DisplayLink on my MacBook Pro late 2008 running 10.11.6.

But somehow, I can't find a way to make my MacBook Pro mid 2012 work with the LG M228WD monitor. However, it does work straight away on a friend's more recent monitor.

Tried to install every DisplayLink version since v.5.0.1 but I don't even get an icon in the menu bar !
System report > Extensions indicates that the kext IS loaded but NOT authenticated.
System preferences > Security > General - DisplayLink allowed.

I've tried to detect monitors since the Display preferences, also tried all resolutions and refresh rates. Nothing works. Still no signal with this monitor which, as I said, works fine with MacBook Pro late 2008. Tried to unplug, replug, change menus from the monitor. Nothing. I'm at the end of my wits.

Could it be that this monitor is simply incompatible with Mojave 10.14 ?
No drivers for Mac exist. I wouldn't even know where to install them. Is there a workaround DisplayLink could help with ?

All suggestions are very welcome. Thanks !
